DON'T MISS WARM SOUNDS FOR FALL WITH ‘COODER WHITE SKAGGS’ TOUR IN NOVEMBER

The acclaimed “Cooder White Skaggs” tour heads out again for a multi-city leg in their latest travels bringing their “Music for The Good People” show up the East Coast, with stops in New York City and Boston for November 2015 dates.

Glowing reviews are pouring in, like this one from No Depression by Grant Britt when the tour came to McGlohon Theatre in Charlotte, N. C., on Aug. 19: “Bob Dylan and Emmylou Harris recorded Ralph Stanley's ‘Hallelujah I'm Ready to Go,’ but Skaggs' version rivaled them all, blasting away at warp speed on mandolin, Cooder rattled the banjo like a machine gun and Daddy Buck, whom Skaggs introduced as ‘the 84-year-old rockin' cat daddy,’ sprinkled in some lively jangle. Sharon stepped up with a version of Kitty Wells' 1955 hit ‘Making Believe,’ with sister Cheryl joining in for some ethereal White family harmony. Cooder chimed in the background with some licks so pretty it made my heart ache.”

Mike Schrand from Playback:stl notes, “The band played flawlessly and tastefully all evening, delivering songs by the Louvin Brothers, Flatt and Scruggs, and Hank Snow, among others” when the CWS tour came to The Sheldon Concert Hall in St. Louis on July 20.  He added, “Skaggs was a consummate showman, playing fiddle, acoustic guitar, and electric guitar with finesse and melodic tastefulness. Cooder blended in perfectly with the band, delivering some spine-chilling slide guitar, and even one song on electric baritone mandolin. White was graceful and supportive, leading the band with her acoustic rhythm guitar. Cheryl White, [Mark] Fain, and Joachim Cooder did a great job in being responsive and thoughtful in their playing, but the most pleasant surprise of the night was 84-year-old Buck White, who played piano with a mile-wide smile all evening. Almost every solo he turned in was inspired and beautiful, so much so that Skaggs and Cooder alluded to his incredible playing several times during the show.”
